What is a Chisler
A chisler the common name for the Uinta ground squirrel, which is native to Utah.
Why are the rain collectors named after cheese
I grew up in Wisconsin and these names silly enough to remember.
My bottle keeps tipping over – what should I do
Do not tighten (if possible) the straps so the collecting plane distorts. And distortion caused by the straps will cause the plane to incorrectly funnel the water. Strong wind will tip your water bottle.
If the straps are not tight, it may be necessary to flatten the ground where the bottle is located. Foliage, rocks, sticks, bumps of any sort can make your bottle unstable.
Put some water in your bottle. This extra weight will help stabilize the bottle.
The fabric enclosure is not required to collect water. Remove the bottle from the enclosure and try using available sticks or rocks to secure the bottle in place.
If the wind is blowing the funnel out of the bottle, the easier solution is to raise the bottle closer to the funnel. Use available earth to create a tall base for the bottle so the funnel egress is inside the mouth of the bottle.
How to store your rain collector
We recommend the collector is cleaned and dried after each use. After the collector is cleaned and dried, it should be stored indoors. Wet products stored may degrade the performance and lifetime.
