Chisler
(1) More Fun Things
I have to admit one of the best parts of owning a business is the adventure I need to go on. I love camping and biking and getting to do both is kind of a treat.

The feedback from pt.1 of the Great Salt Lake Bike Adventure has been amazing! Thank you for everyone who has reached out!
I am going to be doing a lot more of those this year. Its good motivation to get our there and show how these Chisler Outdoor products can improve a camping experience.
Stay tuned!
(2) Bike Packing Adventure
A few weeks ago I rode from my house in Salt Lake to the Great Salt Lake and made a film about it. If you haven’t checked it out yet I promise you its worth your time.

Part 2 will be released shortly!

Winter
(3) What to do for non-Winter folks (like-myself)

Get that microgreen garden planted!

You cannot go wrong with hiking in Sedona with your travel bags!

Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs are always a treat!
(4) Plan for adventures in Spring
One of my best time eaters is planning for trips for once it gets warmer. Cold camping is GREAT (shameless self plug) and warm camping is great too.
My main goals are to explore locally. Going to check out those local places are always a good time!

Going to a far away place is great too. This spring we are going to Ohio (of all places) to see the eclipse. If you have never seen an annual eclipse, its hard to describe! I highly recommend it!

Moab is always one of the first places to go camp in the spring. After it starts getting a little sunny, boyo the season has begun!

(5) New Campers Setup
Getting a good camping setup is not a hard as you may think.
You need the essentials to keep you warm when you are up (standing) and when you are down (sleeping). And if we are getting wild, when you are both up and down like some sort of twisted reality Schrödinger's cat craziness (sitting).
Lets keep your body comfy!
1) Naughty Bits

Less chafe and sweat during activities during the day will make your life so much better while camping. Getting a good pair of undergarments, specifically for camping, is essential. Look for a high Merino Wool percentage (80%+) and a Nylon/Spandex mesh. This fabric quickly dries and does not retain odor.
Its OK to spend a few more dollars in this department.
Both of these are available for around $30 online.
2) Less Naughty Bits

Same principal as your underwear.. Breathable and minimal stank are the goals.
The best first layer is a Chisler Outdoor t-shirt! Available now!
But seriously, keep an eye out for shirts that are not wool and can be layered easily. A key benefit with layering is the ability to keep your body at the perfect temp. Hiking uphill will require less layers and hiking down will require more.
Keeping you legs happy is a much easier task. A single layer for most is enough to keep your legs dry and warm. I have been pleasantly surprised pants made out of Nylon and Spandex are as comfortable as they are. (note the photo above)
Don't be the person who hikes up Kings Peak in a pair of denim jeans..
3) Not Naughty Bits at all
Tent, Sleeping Pad, Sleeping Bag, Lights, Accessories, Camping Chair

I have always been in the tribe of upgrading as you go.
You 1000% do not need a 14oz tent for your first backpacking adventure. After doing a few trips and really defining what you want, then start having a look at the ultra lightweight gear on the market.
Getting your first camp kit is a lot. You aren’t going to get everything right on the first try; and that is the fun part. Figuring out what works for you for the camping you like is perfectly fine.
Ill admit half of my camping these days is based out of my car.

After working my butt off all week, half of the time I just want to grab my kit, hit the road, get to my camp and crack a beer!
Those 30-mile hiking weekends are great, but sometimes the simplest camps are the best.
Hopefully these suggestions can get you out there and enjoy the wilderness!
ENDING

Thank you for reading our Winter newsletter. We hope you found some inspiration for your next adventure.
Remember to be prepared, stay safe, leave no trace, and collect that rain.
Cheers!
